Sooam Biotech Research Foundation is a non-profit scientific research organization focusing on research in advanced biotechnology for industrial and biomedical applications using animal cloning and pluripotent stem cells combined with transgenic technology. Sooam has collaborative research partnerships with many educational institutions including Chungbuk National University and Seoul National University. Sooam has many public research funding sponsors including Gyeonggi Province and Rural Development Administration of Korea. Also, there are many other private sponsors that are interested and fascinated by research being performed at Sooam. A significant portion of dog cloning research performed at Sooam was made possible through research funds provided by these private sponsors.
